Overview

The Mantis series of lamps was created in 1951 by Bernard Schottlander. Influenced by the famous sculptor Alexander Calder, Bernard Schottlander imagined the Mantis series like sculptural lights infused with movement. Both an artist and an engineer, Bernard Schottlander used a clever system of counterweights and flexible steel bars to create the iconic lines of the Mantis lamps, which he completed with the recognizable asymetrical aluminum shade.
The beautiful Mantis Table Lamp is a re-edition of Bernard Schottlander design by Paris based DCW éditions. It is capable of a full 360-degree rotation. The shade provides direct, focused task lighting. The switch is on the shade. Versatile lamp with ease of use.

DCW Editions is a French design brand specializing in lighting. Best known for the Lampe Gras, a re-edition of the iconic 1921 lamp, they draw inspiration from the past to create chic and timeless quality lights, designed to last.
