High Coffee Table NUAGE, Terracotta

by Sebastian Herkner

In Stock

The NUAGE collection is a collection of side and coffee tables by Sebastian Herkner for COEDITION. «I wanted to combine [ceramic with] a second material: the hand-made ceramic trays are surrounded by a folded metal frame» explains the designer. The combination of ceramic and metal creates an elegant contrast, making up a collection of precious, sophisticated and decorative tables. The designer sees the tables as trays to stage objects in a room. “The ceramic surface and the patina of the metal base reflect our deep shared understanding of craftsmanship” he says. The focus is on the quality, honesty and history behind a design. It’s a matter of passion, the idea being to develop something unique. These tables look like jewellery. The elegance and power that comes out of them is immediately understood” adds Herkner.

These tables come in a range of three colors and three sizes. They can be placed by themselves or in clusters and are suited for residential or hospitality projects. Side tables, nightstands, coffee or lounge tabless, they are ver versatile.

An unconditional love for traditional craftsmanship paired with a good feel for new technologies, a true flair for color, authentic materials and textures, an unadulterated curiosity for different cultures, for embracing and integrating them. “There is a sensitivity and identity to my work that emphasizes the function, the material and the detail. I transport and interpret characteristics from various contexts of society and culture and implement them in new artifacts. This character infuses the most everyday objects with respect and personality. In this manner, seemingly contrary things can experience esteem.“
