With Wind & Fire, designer Marie Michielssen makes a foray into a relatively new field, namely glass to create this collection of Vases for Serax. Parts of this collection draws inspiration from her organic paper mâché EARTH vases. At the same time, she has also added completely new shapes, reminiscent of old pharmacy pots, to this collection. Glass provided the creative outlet to experiment with colors, using rather earthy, natural colors (brown, green and dark blue) for the organic shapes with the eye-catching ears inspired by the Earth collection. For the sleeker models, gradients of colors in back, dark brown, amber and blue were used. While these vases can be used for a traditional flower arrangement, they are also perfectly suited for a still-life with just one or a few flowers.
