Antonino Sciortino

Antonino Sciortino was born in Palermo, Sicily. At the age of eight, he began to learn the blacksmith's craft in his the family workshop. At the same time, he started to attend dance school in Palermo, where he would lay the foundations for a successful career as a dancer and choreographer. In 2003 he moved to Milan, and began a new artistic adventure, characterized by the constant research, in the processing of iron, of that ethereal lightness typical of dance. Sciortino's creations use "cotto" wire, a particular type of iron, which he manipulates in a crescendo of graceful, dancing lines, transforming it into true masterpieces. Developing a recognizable eclectic craftsmanship, the creative and imaginative Sicilian has designed an exclusive collection of tables, side tables and iron bowls for Belgian brand SERAX. These metal objects are like sculptures, with the soul and vintage look typical of Sciortino’s work.
