Overview

The Tatami rug collection, with its unique fiber combination of wool and jute, was design by Spanish designer Ariadna Miquel for Spanish brand nanimarquina. The essence of traditional Japanese straw tatamis gave inspiration for this modern rug collection. These hand loomed Dhurries (a thick flat woven rug used traditionally in India) are made with 50% New Zealand wool and 50% Jute. The structure and shine of the jute blended with the softness of the wool to create a mesmerizing combination that results in these gorgeous Tatami rugs.

The Tatami rug collection is available in four colors (Natural, Indigo, Yellow, Black, Purple) and in four standard sizes (Medium, Large, XL, XXL). These high-quality rugs are entirely handcrafted, which may result in slight variances in size. These rugs are hand-dyed and color tones may vary a little, which is part of their natural beauty. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may alter rug color tone and may even cause discoloring.

nanimarquina was founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina and has been dedicated to innovation and quality ever since, blending contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship techniques.
