Overview

The Stone rug collection was designed by Diego Fortunato for Spanish brand nanimarquina. These modern innovative wool stones create a path through the rooms of contemporary homes, like a riverbed of smooth pebbles that adapt to long corridors. Hand tufted out of pure New Zealand wool, these stones with their irregular contours offer a myriad of combinations for interiors, acting as stepping-stones for an imaginary stream. The earth tones adapt to different decorative styles, a gentle reminder of the basic elements in the world.

The collection comes in eleven variations of varied sizes ressembling stepping stones. These high-quality rugs are entirely handcrafted, which may result in slight variances in size. These rugs are hand-dyed and color tones may vary a little. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may alter rug color tone and may even cause discoloring.

nanimarquina was founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina and has been dedicated to innovation and quality ever since, blending contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship techniques.

Diego Fortunato

Diego Fortunato founded his first design studio in 1995 in Barcelona, his London design studio followed in 2011. The Argentinian-born designer’s lighting, urban furniture, rugs, upholstering, and limited edition objects reside between industrial design, sculpture and conceptual art. Deceptively simple, yet meticulously detailed, they show his constant search for theoretically possible concepts rather than merely shapes. He wants us to feel a story behind his work and sometimes his sense of humor and fantasy. An accomplished designer, Diego has created long-lasting products for the market. His timeless designs have become best-sellers over the years.
