The Sonia Rug by Florence Bourel for TOULEMONDE BOCHART is a tribute to modern-day abstract compositions where circles and lines criss-cross in a palette of contrasting yet soft colors. Florence Bourel plays with all types of hand weaving to enrich her design. The layered shapes of the rug translate to the eyes as straight edges and sweeping curves. Color is introduced with great contrast in mind. The 100% wool rug is hand-tufted, giving it a softness that satisfies against the foot's sole.

Using its own design studio and working with renowned designers and architects, TOULEMONDE BOCHART is known for its exclusive rug design and manufacturing steeped in tradition. Florence Bourel

Florence Bourel has been an independent designer since 1998. She lives and works in Paris. She has a degree in product design and interior architecture in France and Italy (ESAG, LISAA and Istituto Europeo di design). She started her career in graphic design and interior design. Since 2012 she has devoted herself fully to the design of furniture, rugs and objects and collaborates with prestigious brands such as Hermès, Serax, Toulemonde Bochart... Her work is characterized by a graphic and colorful strength and combines clean graphic lines, the use of raw materials, colorful vibrations and traditional techniques, all in a spirit of “craftsmanship”. Fashioned from a strong background as much in product design as in interior or set design, she uses her mixed heritage of Brittany and Africa to create her style where colors emerge and vibrate timeless graphics.
