Carlotta de Bevilacqua

Carlotta de Bevilacqua graduated in 1983 in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. She is mainly known for her research in contemporary lighting design. In the early 1990s she started to design lighting projects for the Italian brands Artemide and Danese, developing a new generation of LED products, recognized with several patents and awards. Since then, she has been a force in contemporary lighting design. She created the concept “The Human Light” in which lighting encourages not only the well-being of those who live, work and interact with it, but also takes care of the planet. As interested in the science of lighting as she is in the sensory experience, Carlotta de Bevilacqua seeks to create synergy between products and end-users through easy-to-live-with, experimental design. In addition to widespread recognition of her work, in 2011, she received a Red Dot Design Award for the Algoritmo and Copernico.
