Overview

Vertigo Nova, by Constance Guisset for French design house Petite Friture, is a new version of the iconic Vertigo Lamp, part of the MOMA design collection. The Vertigo Nova is a highly technical piece of sophisticated design, incorporating LED as a sustainable light source. Vertigo Nova shudders with the vibrations of the air thanks to a structure made of fiberglass with ribbons in polyurethane handmade in France. The play of projected shade gives the Vertigo lamp a ot of character.

With its name derived from a star, the lamp sculpture intrigues with its unique style, striking a balance between technology and elegance. “Vertigo Nova is born of the desire to work and shape light as an object, to soften and mold it. Here, the technical prowess lies in the mysterious sand-blasted glass. [...] a light and delicate veil floating between two worlds”. The lamp comes in black or white, for two subtly different moods: opalescent white on white, or ashen grey on black for a more sophisticated look. In white, light bursts out of the globe bathing the room in luxuriant rays. In its black version, the designer describes the subdued mood of the delicate glow as “light becoming a sensation and a glowing presence, like the soft haze of frosted glass, it creates mystery”.

Petite Friture is a French design house working with emerging and well established designers to create unique long-lasting collections with a free spirit and a strong focus on sustainability.
