Patrick Norguet

After completing his design studies at ESDI school of design, Patrick Norguet was commissioned to design the display windows of Yves Saint-Laurent and Louis Vuitton. From these experiences, he gained an understanding of brand identity. In 2000, his Rainbow Chair, which was noticed and produced by Giulio Cappellini, gave him international visibility. He then opened his studio in Paris. Thanks to his keen sense of context, his analytical approach to constraints, and respect for culture and customs, Patrick Norguet has built over the years strong relationships with manufacturers, developing a unique know-how in production process optimization for objects, lamps and furniture of all scales. Patrick Norguet sees design as an encounter with a manufacturer whose creative intent is shaped by technical and economic constraints and the expectations of a user it hopes to seduce discreetly, yet lastingly. Always drawing inspiration from his surroundings, Patrick Norguet aims at creating products which relevance and modernity will withstand the test of time. He has become an emblematic figure of French design and a leading player of the international design scene.
