Overview

The Fromme Chair was designed in 2020 by Tom Chung for Petite Friture. An experienced cyclist, Tom Chung named the chair after Fromme mountain near Vancouver, Canada. He thought to reinvent the most common object and yet the greatest challenge for a designer: a simple yet comfortable design chair. The slightly curved seat is mounted atop a set of shock absorbers thus harnessing the streamlined curve and technical properties of racing bicycles to create an ultra-light, comfortable seat. Designed to be stackable, made in aluminum with a grainy mat finish in five standard colors (black, brown red, mint gree, blue and coral) and an anti-UV powder coating making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Petite Friture is a French design house working with emerging and well established designers to create unique long-lasting collections with a free spirit and a strong focus on sustainability.
