Overview

The iconic Sequoia tunnel tree was the inspiration for Space Copenhagen’s design of the Sequoia Pouf for Danish design house Fredericia. In contrast to the gigantic American redwood, the Sequoia Pouf is compact, moveable and versatile. Sequoia features soft contours and a feeling of seamless upholstery, in either flat woven wool, bouclé or fluffy sheepskin.

Key to the Sequoia Pouf’s distinctive appeal is the sculptural shape with its curved edges. It’s an inventive, multi-purpose design that’s ideal as a stool or a place to put a book, as well as a decorative element for hotels and hospitality, retail venues, commercial settings and residences. Or simply as a contemporary conversation piece boasting a quiet presence with personality.

Fredericia Furniture began as a thoroughly Danish design house, born of a proud heritage. A heritage of unfaltering dedication to the perfection and progression of the design craft, to create and deliver a collection that will be the modern originals of tomorrow. Simple principles that honor outstanding quality through a careful selection of materials, functionality and attention to detail.

Space Copenhagen

Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio working across multiple disciplines from furniture, lighting and refined objects, to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world. The ambition is to forge new paths by balancing opposites — classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimal, light and shade. Duality and contrast. Curiosity as a fundamental human condition. The studio’s intuitive approach creates designs that are distinctively shaped by the given circumstances, functional needs, and a fundamental interest in human behavior. It is a sense of belief in slow aesthetic that centers quality and longevity.
