Overview

The Lucca Portable Lamp SC51 by Space Copenhagen for &Tradition is an elegant portable lamp with a hook, inspired by the golden glow of the Tuscan city of Lucca. It mimics the warmth of the city’s nocturnal light and produces a welcoming, homey ambience and can fit any space and purpose, be it indoors or outdoors. The battery-powered Lucca can operate for up to 12 hours and is easily recharged with a USB cable (included). The lamp’s outer shell, built out of satinized opal glass, diffuses the light into a soft and warming glow, and on the base, a discreet dimmer allows for three different intensities. "Our Lucca lamp is a simple yet elegant lamp that was inspired by the intriguing atmosphere we experienced in the Mediterranean," notes Henriksen one of the designers of Space Copenhagen. "Use it both as a classic lamp or as a substitute for candlelight – in the house, in the garden or the terrace."

&Tradition reworks design icons from past masters and creates tomorrow’s classics in collaboration with contemporary designers, upholding the tenets of craftsmanship to produce furniture, lighting and accessories that meet modern needs for function, comfort and beauty.

Space Copenhagen

Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio working across multiple disciplines from furniture, lighting and refined objects, to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world. The ambition is to forge new paths by balancing opposites — classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimal, light and shade. Duality and contrast. Curiosity as a fundamental human condition. The studio’s intuitive approach creates designs that are distinctively shaped by the given circumstances, functional needs, and a fundamental interest in human behavior. It is a sense of belief in slow aesthetic that centers quality and longevity.
