Overview
Neo is a floor lamp designed by Bernhard Osann, winner of the 2020 Wallpaper* Design Awards, for NEMO Lighting. It consists of a rod bent in two places that leans against a wall and can be rotated to create different effects, offering either direct
or indirect illumination without the need for a lampshade. “If you include the conditions of a room in the design of a floor lamp, you see completely new possibilities: the luminaire can lean against the wall, it does not need a base. At the same time, the wall can be used to create pleasant, indirect light. Designing Neo, I sought the perfect shape for this interaction” explains the designer.
Nemo offers a unique collection of lights by world-renowned designers of the 20th century (Le Corbusier, Mario Bellini, etc...) as well as contemporary designers determined to explore all the possibilities offered by the latest innovations.

Designer
Bernhard Osann
Bernhard Osann runs his design studio in Hamburg, where he designs primarily lights and furniture. He graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. Before Bernhard Osann became a designer, he completed an apprenticeship as a joiner and attended a school for sculpture, which has influenced his basic principles of design. He plays with physical laws and geometrical shapes to find new unconventional solutions to simplify objects. The results are minimalistic dynamic constructions that move, invite you to be moved and interact with space.
