Overview

The Tempio Table Lamp by atelier oï for Artemide draws its inspiration from Japanese temples. atelier oï created the lamp inspired by the temples' " calm philosophy, their colors, and portico forms", bringing a sense of calm and Zen to any space. Tempio’s clean lines and simple structure resemble an ancient Japanese temple, and give the same sense of order and calm. Two beams sit atop a flat bar to support the diffuser, which rests on top like a slightly curved roof. The lamp is crafted of aluminum in a soft metallic bronze, whichs adds elegance to any interior. Tempio works perfectly as a task light in a home or a public space, providing a comfortable yet powerful light that diffuses from the integrated LED.

Artemide has been a worldwide leader in lighting design with an unparalleled commitment to technological innovation, research and human interaction, committed to the philosophy of "the Human Light". For over six decades, Artemide has created award-winning collaborations with some of the world’s most talented designers.

atelier oï

atelier oï was founded in 1991 in La Neuveville, Switzerland, by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond. The name oï, derived from the Russian word “troïka”, a team of three, conveys the dynamism and holistic energy generated by a trio. The founders’ deep involvement with architecture, design and naval construction, as well as the encounter with charismatic personalities such as Alberto Sartoris and Ettore Sottsass, have shaped atelier oï ’s philosophy. It strives to go beyond the confines of a single discipline. On an international scale its work ranges from architecture and interior design to product design and scenography. The starting point of the creative process is often the material: its nature, its potential affinities, its reaction to external stimuli and its interaction with other materials. The material is explored or adapted with an untiring curiosity in the pursuit of knowledge and discovery. atelier oï’s team has won numerous national and international awards.
