The Afteroom Counter Chair Plus by Danish brand MENU was launched in 2018. Afteroom is a young Stockholm-based design studio, founded by rising star designers Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei. Afteroom’s inspiration for the original chair came from the Bauhaus movement and an interest in forms, senses, proportions and materials, anchored in a minimalist culture. With the Afteroom Counter Chair Plus the duo adds comfort to form. Like the original, the Counter Chair Plus is deconstructed and stripped of unnecessary components, but now boasts a wider backrest and a luxurious upholstery (seat and backrest in the textile version, seat only in the leather variant which has a walnut back rest). The result is a blissfully simple chair that embodies both minimalism and style, bound to steal the show in any room.
