The Bar Chair Plus by Afteroom Studio was launched in 2018 for Danish brand MENU. Afteroom is a young Stockholm-based design studio founded by rising star designers Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei. Afteroom’s inspiration for the original Afteroom Chair created in 2012 was the Bauhaus movement and an interest in forms, senses, proportions and materials, anchored in a minimalist culture.

Beautifully minimal, the Afteroom Bar Chair Plus adds comfort to style. Like the original, the Bar Chair is deconstructed and stripped of unnecessary components, but now boasts the additional feature of a wider backrest and a luxurious upholstering (both seat and backrest for the wool upholstery version and seat only for the leather upholstery version, the backrest being in walnut veneer). The result is a blissfully simple chair that embodies both minimalism and style, bound to steal the show in any room.
