Overview

The Pétanque Vase, by French Luxury Silversmith Puiforcat, is true to Jean Puiforcat's geometric inspirations. This collection of ample and rounded objects recalls the steel balls used in Pétanque, the traditional game that has delighted Provence natives for centuries. Such is the case for these spherical vases, fashioned in mirror-polished silverplated metal embellished with fine ribbing. Vividly reflecting light and producing enchanting perspectives with their varied dimensions, they will bring elegance and sophistication to living rooms and dining tables.

Boasting exceptional savoir-faire, the House of Puiforcat offers pieces of its heritage while imagining the classics of tomorrow. Going beyond tableware, the House of Puiforcat dedicates its expertise to cultivating a complete silversmith’s Art de vivre around the art of fine taste and decoration. The Parisian silversmith Puiforcat is regarded as one of the legendary names in European silver craftsmanship. This family cutler, founded in Paris in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat and his two cousins, owes most of its renown to Jean Puiforcat, from the fourth generation of the family, who was to write the most beautiful pages of its history almost a century later, and would establish the company in the avant-garde of modern silverwork.

The Parisian silversmith Puiforcat is regarded as one of the legendary names in European silver craftsmanship. The House of Puiforcat, the family company founded in Paris in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat and his two cousins, owes most of its renown to Jean Puiforcat, who established the company in the avant-garde of modern silverwork. Jean Puiforcat (1897-1945) was a French silversmith, sculptor and designer known in France as the "most important French Art Deco silversmith”. After World War II, the French artist apprenticed as a silversmith and a designer. He lived in Paris and St Jean de Luz and designed exclusively in the Art Deco style. His silver work had smooth surfaces and was based on geometric series. Ivory, onyx, lapis lazuli, and rosewood were used to decorate pieces of silver or porcelain. Among his many other talents, Jean Puiforcat excelled in graphic arts. Today, his drawings continue to inspire the contemporary creations of the Studio Puiforcat. Boasting exceptional savoir-faire, the House of Puiforcat offers pieces of its heritage while imagining the classics of tomorrow.
